What lessons can Israel offer to India in counter insurgency and anti-terror operations in Kashmir?

1. Use intelligence and covertly kill the terrorists, especially leaders.

After the Munich massacre, where 11 members of Israeli Olympics team were killed by Palestinian terrorists, Israel avenged each and every member involved. And Israel had found and killed each and every terrorist with the help of their intelligence agency called ‘Mossad’. Many of the terrorists were lying deep in their safe homes across Europe, but still Mossad managed to penetrate for the mission.

The covert missions is the better than war, it does not disturb the neighboring area. By the time everyone comes to know, the assassins have actually fled the scene.

2. We are seeing mobs who dare to target army personal in Kashmir, and thereby inflating a feeling of resentment among the army personnel and nationalistic population. The mobs destroy army vehicles, beat Indian CRPF soldiers if it catches them, stones them and subject them to every barbarism they can. Terrorists like Burhan Wani are given funeral as if they were any national icon. Even Kalam did not get enough respect after his long life of dedication and devotion to this very nation, unlike Wani.

The best way out is to impinge the fear of the army in those terrorists and militants. So far, Indian army is now using pellet guns against those terrorists, and that is really commendable. In addition to that, India may use Israeli strategy, and that will be a massive throwback on these lunatics.

Pic up one of those guys who is pelting stones, and knot him tight to the vehicles of Indian army. Just like our friend in Israel did.

Now, the people next day won’t throw any stones, as they will fear that they may be next human shield.

3. No matter what the number of terrorist is, just do not tolerate them. If they have Burhan Wani, we have Lance Naik Hanumanthappa; if they have stones, we have pellet guns; if they have a set of lunatics, we have a well trained Indian army; if they have mortars, we have umm aircrafts.

Yes, Israel uses its bombers to raid Hamas bases in Gaza.

(Israeli air strike on Hamas’ base)

Another policy Israel has opted to demolish terror bases throughout its soil is quite controversial but effective. Israel destroys the homes of terrorists and shakes their bases. Though some consider it a fruitless policy but statistics prove that it has been successful.

(Vandalized home of a Palestinian terrorist Abdelrahman Shaludi who killed two Israelis with his car)

One more interesting fact- Israel had targeted nuclear facilities of Syria and Iraq (Operation Orchard and Operation Opera). Had Israel not done so, just think what could have happened. Islamic State would have got possession of nuclear reactors and something worse could have happened, when they have scientists and engineers with very high qualifications.

We have a far better army and technology when compared to what militants have. Bending in front of them and begging for peace is useless. India has opted it since independence, and it has never been fruitful. In Hindi we have a proverb ‘Laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi maante’ (Roughly translates to Some stubborn people don’t understand peace, they need to be bent down on knees) Now it is the time to kick and destabilize the terror base.

Hope I answered. Thanks for A2A.

Thanks for A2A.

Israel & India share the same situation “Geo-politically” no doubt.

But the difference in situation being that Jews are considered as occupiers by the Arabs which historically ist incorrect. Where as in case of J&K which is a part of India historically, the foreign extremism which drew out existing population by what is equivalent of Indian holocaust (Post-Independence) ist the main & only Kulprit. In fact Israel ist doing its best to provide solutions to the government & people of India on various problems so that both countries can learn from each other.

As far as future of J&K, NE region & Maoism ist concerned India needs to learn most from Russia.

Hope this answers your question
